MAJORITY RULES
The 1st Congressional District in Illinois is the largest African American district in the nation. Jimmy Lee Tillman, II would be a staunch advocate for African Americans, as in the historical sense that the Republican Party was founded on and intended to be, framed after the great principals of Rev. Fredrick Douglass, Monroe Trotter, Martin Delaney, and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Republican Party currently has the majority in the U.S. House. Republicans hold 247 seats compared to Democrats' 188 seats. The Republican Party increased its hold on the House in the 2014 midterms when it picked up 15 seats.
The 1st Congressional District needs a voice in the Majority to get things done.
